மட்டு போதனா வைத்தியசாலை வைத்தியர்கள் எவரும் கைது செய்யப்படவில்லை

மட்டக்களப்பு வைத்தியசாலையின் அவசர சிகிச்சை பிரிவின் வைத்தியர்கள் மூவர் உட்பட ஆறு பேர் கடந்த 24 ஆம் திகதி புதன்கிழமை கைது செய்யப்பட்டதாக சில ஊடகங்களில் வெளியிடப்பட்ட செய்தி தவறானதாகும்.

கடந்த பங்குனி மாதம் முதலாம் திகதி வந்தாறுமூலையை சேர்ந்த 9 வயது சிறுவன் சிறிய ரக லொறி வாகனத்திலிருந்து விழுந்து, அந்த வாகனத்தின் சில்லுகள் ஏறியதால் ஏற்பட்ட கடுமையான காயங்களுடன் அவசர சிகிச்சை பிரிவுக்கு அனுமதிக்கப்பட்டிருந்தார். சிகிச்சையின் போது குருதிமாற்றீட்டின் அவசியத்தால் குருதிமாற்றீடு செய்யப்பட்ட போது குருதி மாதிரி பெறும் செயன்முறையில் ஏற்பட்ட தவறு காரணமாக பிழையான குருதி செலுத்தப்பட்டு சிறுநீரக பாதிப்புக்கு உள்ளாகியிருந்தார். இதன் காரணமாக குருதி சுத்திகரிப்பு சிகிச்சை தொடர்ந்து வழங்கப்பட்டதுடன் மேலதிகமாக கிருமித்தொற்றுக்கும் ஆளாகியிருந்தார். அனைத்து உயிர்காப்பு சிகிச்சைகளும் வழங்கப்பட்டிருந்த நிலையில் குருதி சுத்திகரிப்பு சிகிச்சையின் போது மூளையில் இரத்தக்கசிவு ஏற்பட்டு சிகிச்சை பலனின்றி உயிரிழந்தார்.

இதனையடுத்து நடத்தப்பட்ட உள்ளக விசாரணையின் பிரகாரம் விசாரணைக்குழுவின் பரிந்துரைகளின் பேரில் வைத்தியசாலை நிர்வாகத்தினால் சில நடவடிக்கைகள் எடுக்கப்பட்டு, சுகாதார அமைச்சின் ஆரம்பகட்ட விசாரணையும் இடம்பெற்றிருந்தமை குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

Batticaloa Teaching Hospital doctors have not been arrested

Certain media published a news falsely stating that six people including three doctors working at Emergency Department of Teaching Hospital Batticaloa were arrested on last Wednesday 24th July 2019 and is NOT true.

A 9 year old child from Vantharumoolai was admitted to our A&E on March 1st 2019, following a fall from a mini lorry and sustained with serious (grievous) run over injury by the same. Due to the need of blood transfusion for the run over injury, when blood was transfused, a wrong blood was given due to an error occurred during blood sampling procedure. Subsequently he developed renal failure complicated with infection and all available necessary life saving therapies were given including regular haemodialysis. Later he developed bleeding inside the brain during haemodialysis therapy and deceased unresponsive to treatment.

An internal inquiry has been conducted at institutional level and certain administrative actions were taken based on the committee recommendations. It’s notable that preliminary inquiry was also conducted by the Health Ministry.

We wholeheartedly share the sorrowfulness of everyone due to the demise of this child and we affirmed that we will provide our complete support to bring justice to this child.
